Our most ancient ancestors brought with them when they settled the Mariana Islands thousands of years ago, a rich tradition of pottery-making and coastal living. The artifacts they left behind tell us about how they lived.
This necklace features a handwoven pandanus form inspired by the designs found on ancient Chamorro pottery. The woven element is suspended horizontally on a simple metal chain, allowing the form and material to remain the focus. The pandanus fibers are woven by hand around an acrylic form, creating a lightweight piece with an organic texture and natural tone. Variations in weave and finish reflect the handmade nature of the work.
Please note: the acrylic component is delicate and may break if bent or forced. Gentle wear and careful storage are recommended. Each necklace is one of a kind.
