A sinahi is a crescent-moon-shaped necklace traditionally carved from hima (giant clam shell) and widely recognized as a symbol of CHamoru culture and heritage. Meaning “new moon” in CHamoru, the sinahi is worn to honor ancestors and is often associated with strength, resilience, and connection to land and sea.

This necklace features a handwoven pandanus form inspired by the sinahi. The woven element is suspended horizontally on a simple metal chain, allowing the form and material to remain the focus.

The pandanus fibers are woven by hand around an acrylic form, creating a lightweight piece with an organic texture and natural tone. Variations in weave and finish reflect the handmade nature of the work.

Please note: the acrylic component is delicate and may break if bent or forced. Gentle wear and careful storage are recommended. Each necklace is one of a kind.
